Hi Baby Girl,
For the past week I’ve been feeling you move so much. It feels like being on a mild roller coaster where your belly does a flip-flop. You’ve been growing for 5.5 months now. At the ultrasound this week we found out that your measurements are just right – textbook perfect. The sonogram tech said to me, “You scan like a dream.” Feedback during pregnancy is so unusual. Your dad and I saw your cute little ears, and your cute little hands, and your feet were crossed at the ankles, like a little lady. Your heartbeat was 140 bpm and you weigh 1lb. Here you are, nestled in your womb home:
If this week could get anymore exciting, your dad and I (and you) are flying to Spain today. You won’t get to see the sites, but I’m sure you’ll be tasting the Spanish food and it’s supposed to be very good. We’ll be spending half the week in Barcelona, and then we’re taking the high-speed train to Madrid.
Your dad and I have been very lucky to have traveled extensively, and we hope you get to do the same. For your Bubbe’s (Salisha’s) 70th birthday next year we’re hoping to take you to Italy with us.
In short, there is so much to be excited and grateful for. And you, our little one, are the impetus behind so much of this goodness. Thank you for inspiring us to grow and develop our family. We can’t wait to see you wriggling around. Thanks for all these love taps you’ve been giving.
PS: Here’s a photo taken a week ago at a fancy work party for your dad’s company. In the photo are my friends Elise, Kasey, and Deanna. They can’t wait to meet you. Even 25 lbs heavier than before, I feel light and happy with you inside of me.
